Human Resources

The HR (Human Resources) Department is a handful of supervisory/management individuals within the convention authorized to handle staff issues and conflicts.

As part of the HR department, most HR members will only assist in minor issues such as pestering other members to complete expected tasks. HR also assists the convention by filling in wherever needed from door watching to registration to loading the truck after con. HR is the department that puts out the small at-con fires before they're large enough to need a chair.

Because HR fills open positions within the convention, many general HR members quickly migrate to other departments and stay there as soon as they find a good niche for their skills and expertise. There are multiple department heads who started out in HR originally.

Staff Complaints

The HR department handles staff complaints which includes not only complaints about staff members, but also complaints from staff members. Staff complaints should be made in writing by emailing the HR department using the following email: hr "at" snafucon.com.

If the issue is minor enough, HR will contact the staff member and resolve the issue. Major staff issues are discussed between the head(s) of the HR department and select individuals to determine actions to be taken. General HR members will not be part of most major staff issues/conflicts/complaints although general HR members could be more aware of major staff issues than other general staff members would be.
